The machine
One machine, set up to do the lot
KSM runs a 1.7 tonne Wacker Neuson EZ17 with a tilt hitch, and keeps the attachments to match it. Small enough to get down the side of a house, heavy enough to cut a proper trench. It arrives on its own tandem trailer, so all you need is somewhere to put it.

Attachments
Everything goes out with the digger
You are not hiring a bare machine and then chasing buckets. The attachments travel on the trailer with it.
Auger drive
150 mm, 300 mm and 450 mm bits available. Post holes, pier holes, fence lines and tree planting, bored clean and plumb.
Rock breaker
Hydraulic hammer for the ground that will not budge. Shale, old concrete, rock shelf and stubborn footings.
GP buckets
300 mm and 450 mm general purpose buckets for trenching, footings and services.
1 metre mud bucket
Wide and flat for batter work, levelling, backfilling and tidying a site up at the end.
Ripper
For breaking up compacted ground and hard clay before you dig it.

Shane’s answer: yes it can.
That photo is the auger boring pier holes under a verandah, roof still on. A 1.7 tonne machine goes through a standard gate, works down the side of a house and turns in its own length. It is the size most jobs around a home or a shed actually need, and a lot less damage to your lawn than something bigger.

No tickets required to run it on your own place. If you have never operated one, Shane offers operator training so you start off right.
